During his opening speech at the meeting, Governor Şahin expressed that they were gathered for the seasonal meeting to discuss the frequent occurrence of rain, storms, and other weather events during the winter season. He mentioned the need to review measures and precautions to be taken due to these weather conditions. Governor Şahin recalled the significant flood disaster that occurred on February 13 last year and emphasized the sensitivity of Antalya province to meteorological events. He stressed the importance of being prepared for the potential destructive effects of such weather phenomena. Governor Şahin mentioned the existence of Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction plans, outlining the responsibilities of institutions in the event of a disaster. He stated, “Today, we will review these plans during the meeting and ensure preparedness for disasters.”
